Refresh your outdoor spaces this Spring!
Refresh your outdoor spaces this Spring!
Spring is well underway now and with the longer, warmer days the urge for things to be clean, bright, and new is hard to resist - and why should you?! Outdoor areas that are looking tired and underused can easily be rejuvenated with a few additions, some paint and of course stunning latest season tile inspiration from our Spring Lookbook.
“The sense of optimism we feel when coming into spring … reflected in glossy surfaces and shapes and fresh uplifting greens …”
Sharon Parker, Creative Founder CurateHer/Sharon Parker Curated.
Do you have an existing space you can improve? It could be as simple as replacing an old pathway or as complex as installing a plunge pool! If you want to achieve a lot in a little bit of time though, we’ve put together a few ideas that will upgrade your home as well as your lifestyle.
Get it all on the table
Gorgeous impact can be made on a small scale to get you started. For some easy DIY, you can transform a stagnant corner with a brand new project space. Add a decorative kitchen backsplash such as the one featured, using Di Vietri Tappeto Foglie Tile. Find a suitable piece of secondhand furniture, freshly paint it in a contrasting colour and enjoy your very own wine bar vibes at home.
Another easy-to-knock-over-in-a-weekend project could be a stylish new tabletop. We LOVE to see what @Olympia.Wine Bar has done to their tables with Di Vietri Tappeto Fiocco tiles.

And we’re itching to upcycle an outdoor table of our own after seeing Gina Beschorner’s easy project, @stylecuratorau using Bali Muaya In-out tiles.
Make a great first impression
The front of your home says a lot about who you are from the street so why not make a great first impression with a fresh set of tiles or stone pavers? Simple patterned tiles such as those in the Bali in-out range can soften, as well as provide some elegant contrast, particularly if window frames are coordinated to match as seen in the example.

For those with a little less frontage to work with, a balcony retile can make a dull unused space your new favourite place to be this summer! Just choose your tiles, add some durable weatherproof furniture in the same colour palette and stock up on sunscreen.
Embrace eating outdoors
Now that the sun is setting well after dinner, there’s no better time to get yourself perfectly set up to bring a delicious Spring menu to life. Whether you’re building a workspace around an existing barbecue or grill, paving in a new dining space, or adding more bench space and storage, National Tiles has all the inspo you need this season. Natalie Harley Landscaping shared a great example of this recently, using the Travertine Natural Blend French Pattern Set Tile to create a new calming outdoor dining space.
