Hot Trend: Terracotta
Hot Trend: Terracotta
With layers of earthy orange, a soft, dusty texture, and a rich Mediterranean soul, terracotta is one of the world’s favourite materials. Despite being around for centuries, this historic earthenware is once again a hot topic in design.
Sitting comfortably amongst the trend for nature inspired design, adding the perfect base for a Desert Modern Space, enriching a Boho aesthetic, and even adding fire to a Scandi Chic space, terracotta is as versatile as it is beloved.
From softer peaches and beige, through to darker browns, burnt orange, and intense brick reds, terracotta’s colour family is varied, warm, and inviting. Paired with calm, naked white spaces it will feel clean yet homely. But when mixed with mustards, aubergine, and cream, terracotta can turn a room into a charming and characterful space.
Found in furniture, bedding, paint, and countless décor items, you don’t have to re-tile your house to incorporate terracotta, but for those that want to here are some terracotta tiles of our very own: Stucco Cotto, Bali Stone Sand Compass, Marrakech Tan White, Marrakech Square Tan, and Urban atelier Castanho.
